Surabaya (14072023). Friday, July 14, 2023, a lecturer in the Doctoral Program in Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Education, Surabaya State University held a community service at the Kota Kinabalu Indonesian School (SIKK), Sabah, Malaysia. Community Service is in the form of training activities on the development of Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Case Based Learning (CBL) model. The training was attended by 16 SIKK teachers from elementary, junior high, high school and vocational education levels. The training was coordinated by the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Educational Technology Prof. Dr. Mustaji, M.Pd with members Citra Fitra Cholida S.Pd M.Pd and Dr. Syaiputra Diningrat, M.Pd.
This training activity is based on the 6 skills needed in the 21st century with the term 6C, namely character, citizenship, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. ). Many efforts have been made by educators to design, implement, and conduct learning assessments that are relevant to competency demands in the 21st century. These efforts include optimizing student-centered learning to create a collaborative and participatory classroom atmosphere, including using the case-based learning method. However, from the results of observational experience, there are still many teachers who do not have an understanding of how to plan, implement, and carry out assessments using case based learning.
The CBL model is a model that uses well-documented real cases as a learning tool. students must explore and find problems and solutions to the cases given under the direction of the teacher in a discussion activity. The advantages of this CBL model are; (1) students can express cases or issues and use cases that they relate to new situations. (2) students can develop analysis, collaboration, and communication skills. (3) students are more involved in the learning process. (4) Case-based learning can develop students' skills in collaborating, speaking, and critical thinking.
Through CBL training activities, it is hoped that SIKK teachers will have a comprehensive understanding of CBL, understand the concept of LKPD using the syntax of the CBL model, analyze the needs of LKPD, be able to design LKPD, be able to develop LKPD, and use LKPD in learning using the CBL model. The training was attended by the Indonesian Consulate General in Sabah, Malaysia, Mr. Rafail Walangitan
Training activities are carried out online. Beginning with the presentation of material by resource persons. The follow-up activity is for participants to prepare LKDP individually within one week, the results of the LKPD development are sent via Google classroom. The activity ended with the presentation of the results of the LKPD products and a review by the resource person team (cakmus/15072023)
